Children growing up in abject poverty in Cameroon face many difficulties including the effects of conflicts, limited access to education, chronic malnutrition, high teenage-pregnancy, drugs, crime, street children and high unemployment for care givers guardians and  parents.

It takes one person to create a lasting change in the life of a  child. $30 monthly donation will give the child access to life-changing educational opportunities, enhance health/sanitation, life skills, protection and more.

At LINK-UP, we believe, empowering children would break the vicious cycle of poverty for themselves, their families, community and the next generation.  Sponsor Destiny today.

Every needy child need’s a sponsor or a guardian.
“I did not choose to be an orphan nor to be  born in a miserable family with an uncertain future”.
We wish to tell such children that, they are not alone. We are with them as long as they are disciplined and focused.
We provide targeted and long term assistance to poor children who eager to learn, especially the most needy ones, like the needy orphans, vulnerable and internally displaced children.

We give particular considerations to the girl child who are more vulnerable.
Structures and systems have been developed to identify them. This through LINK-UP and its community support structures and schools. They can also apply directly through the organisations website.

You are invited, to become a child sponsor and assist a child in need.

Child sponsorship is designed to enable very poor children to have access to education  or learn a skill

Basically, the cost of sponsoring a child living with a host, in a Government Primary and Secondary School would average $79 and $ 142 respectively, per year. A Sponsor could step up the assistance for a child as deemed necessary or as the situation demands.

This amount may cover the cost of their basic necessities such as the Registration and the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) fees, the essential textbooks, writing material, birth certificates and the registration fees Common Entrance and the GCE Examinations for the final year pupils or students.

The sponsor will receive a progress report of the child.

Children in conflict situations.

As a result of the ongoing conflict in the English speaking regions of Cameroon and the consequences of  COVID – 19, many orphans and vulnerable children are being created on a regular basis. This is as many families continue to lose their loved ones, their sources of livelihood, all due to the conflict and the dwindling  economy.

You can make commitment to contribute X amount per month or year or be responsible over child X in any of the following ways.

  1. Be a Child Sponsor and donate to the cause for the wellbeing of needy children, within a host family (i.e. of a poor relative or none relative of the child).
  2. Be a Child Sponsor as a Distant Guardian Parent. Here you are responsible over a particular child while he/she lives with a host family. (Biological or non biological family)
  3. Make other contributions in kind or services E.g volunteer.

Children are the future, which is why we focus on them.
Before the coming of the ongoing conflict in the English speaking regions of Cameroon that began in 2016, there were VERY LIMITED safety nets or support systems for Orphans and vulnerable children. The Conflict and the COVID -19 pandemic have come to increase their misery, especially as many children are made vulnerable on a daily basis.
